Before we can talk about community empowerment, we must have a strong sense of community. Our youth have established a football team that unites newcomers through sport, fostering a welcoming space for young people new to the UK. Informal gatherings like football significantly help prevent loneliness and isolation among youth and newcomers.

Team membership builds networks that support social integration, and assists in accessing job opportunities through valuable connections. This initiative highlights the importance of youth engagement and social integration within our community.

Members currently play football nearly every Saturday in Birmingham and other UK cities. Additionally, we organize regular matches that bring together youth from various cities. These games promote unity, friendship, and teamwork. Despite financial challenges, Aweil Community remains committed to delivering meaningful public impact, while upholding the values of peace, love, and unity.
