Our Work
Current Activities
The goal of the Mading Aweil Community Association is to facilitate a stronger, more integrated, community that is also better able to participate in broader UK society. We hold our meetings and programming with the intention of providing members of the South Sudanese community, and other newcomers, with practical and emotional support that fosters a sense of belonging. This foundation is especially important during times of crisis.
We also aim to provide improved access to mental health support for community members through signposting, and educational mentoring for children and adults. Our goal is to provide support to all in the community, irrespective of whether or not they are members of the Association.

Annual Community Celebration (National)
MACA’s third annual celebration was an expansion of our first two gatherings, involving nearly 300 participants of all ages, double the previous conference. We shared stories of sorrow and success, and strengthened connections with community members in our own cities, and across the United Kingdom.
